The obligation to wear a mask to protect against Corona has been relaxed. Those who still need one could soon buy one from the vending machine.
As of this week, the obligation to wear masks has been considerably relaxed in Austria and Germany. However, they are still mandatory or at least recommended in some situations, such as when traveling by public transport, visiting doctors or pharmacies, and at other gatherings where the minimum distance cannot be maintained. Entrepreneur Eric Husberg has come up with a straightforward way to buy them. He offers FFP2 masks in cigarette packs that can be stowed in conventional vending machines.
Hundreds of thousands of vending machines
With his solution, which Husberg has developed under the name of Safe Pack he wants to get into the 350,000 German and 30,000 Austrian cigarette vending machines. The package, in the form of a cigarette pack, contains a supposedly certified FFP2 mask as well as a virus-killing disinfectant wipe. The small packages are also said to be of interest to service station operators, hoteliers, airlines, cinemas and other service providers who also sell cigarettes to their customers.
The retail price is stated as 5.50 euros. According to Husberg, 15,000 Safe Packs have already been shipped. The boxes can also be individually printed on request. Regardless of this, the pre-printed slogan "Safe (sic!) your life" could still be improved. The entrepreneur also runs the online store MillionStore.
